Kristina Chkotua, a young Abkhazian ballerina and student of the Russian Ballet Academy named after Agrippina Vaganova, told Sputnik about her first year at the academy, about difficult everyday life and bright performances.

Kristina, from her childhood, dreamed of becoming a ballerina, and for a year, she has been studying at one of the best ballet academies in Russia, the Agrippina Vaganova Academy.

The program of training in the Academy is rich. As Christina told, along with classical, historical dances and gymnastics lessons, she goes through general subjects, studies English, French, and takes piano lessons.

All the exams and lessons Christina handles perfectly, the complexity is only a classic dance.

"It's difficult to pass a classical dance, but after getting a bad evaluation, it's almost impossible to retake. It is necessary to invest a lot of work, but when everything turns out, you start to get a lot of pleasure from it, "continues the ballerina.

Kristina Chkotua for the year of study at the Academy has repeatedly performed on the big stage. Her first performance was in the Hermitage Theater, several times the ballerina performed at the Mariinsky Theater, and more recently in the Kremlin Palace. Among the famous productions of the Academy of Russian Ballet, Christina danced in the play "The Nutcracker", playing the role of a pupa. There were small roles in "Sleeping Beauty", "Don Quixote".

"Of all the productions in which I participated, most of all I like" The Nutcracker "with its bright festive atmosphere," - admits Christina. She dreams of playing on the stage of the world's most famous theaters, in high-profile productions. But the girl's most cherished dream is to return to Abkhazia and open her ballet school here.

Now Kristina Chkotua is at home on vacation. Despite the well-deserved rest, she continues to study every day in order not to lose form. She follows the diet, visits music lessons and waits in order to get a little closer to his dream.
