The Minister of Resorts and Tourism of Abkhazia Avtandil Garzkia told about new excursion routes of the summer tourist season-2017.

In anticipation of the holiday season, the Minister of resorts and tourism of the Republic of Abkhazia Avtandil Garzkia informed about new excursion routes.

Avtandil Garzkia said that for the first time it is planned to launch a pilot project of a new tourist destination for Abkhazia - rural tourism. The first such facility will be located in the village of Duripsh of Gudauta district. "Vacationers are planned to settle in the private sector. There are already those wishing to spend their holidays in the villages, as there are fresh air, untouched nature, ecologically clean products. A very optimistic fact is that in Abkhazia, villages are located near towns" the minister said.

In addition, this year new excursion routes have been created in the villages of Otap, Shubara and in the vicinity of the city of Tkuarchal. "The Shubarsky tract is located above the village of Kaman. It is an object of natural heritage with picturesque nature and waterfalls, there is an ancient human park. As for the city of Tkuarchal, then in its vicinity there are interesting routes to the waterfalls near the villages of Akarmara and Gup, as well as to the radon source. The cave in Otap village is already well known. Now in this village waterfalls have become another attraction, "said Garzkia.

Ministry of Resorts and Tourism is currently engaged in certification of these routes. "We have a security department for tourist routes. The specialists of this department determine how safe this or that excursion direction is. And then, a decision is made about the possibility of using this or that route. For us, the main priority is the safety of tourists, "the minister stressed out.
