NEW HORIZONS AND EXCHANGE OF EXPERIENCE

The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Abkhazia took part in Europe's largest International ready-to-wear and fashion exhibition "Istanbul Fashion Connection" held in Istanbul from August 7-9. This visit was organized by the Plenipotentiary Representative of Abkhazia to Turkey, Ibrahim Avidzba who constantly accompanied the Abkhaz delegation along with Kavkas Atryshba, adviser to the representative.

The CCI of the RA was invited to the event by the management of the Grand International Expo (Europe's largest International Ready-to-wear and Fashion Exhibition) which underlined the growing mutual understanding and desire for cooperation between our countries.

The event brought together the best designers, manufacturers and specialists in the field of fashion and textiles and became an excellent platform for sharing experience and establishing international relations. Hundreds of exhibitors from 50 countries of the world such as the European Union, Great Britain, Russia, the USA, North Africa and the Middle East were represented at the International Exhibition.

The Chamber of Commerce and Industry was represented by Naala Basaria, the Head of the Department of External Relations and Investment and Elina Kishmaria, Deputy of the Department.

The delegation of the Republic consisted of 19 Abkhazian designers and fashion entrepreneurs who enthusiastically accepted the opportunity to participate in the exhibition and were able to get acquainted with the works of colleagues from different countries.

The exhibition provided them with a unique opportunity to see the latest fashion trends, as well as a variety of materials and technologies used. Many of them noted that such an experience not only broadened their horizons but also encouraged creative experimentation and innovation in their own works.
The participants of the exhibition had the opportunity not only to discuss current trends and challenges of the fashion industry, but also to present their ideas on how to create comprehensive programs aimed at supporting young designers.

On the sidelines of the exhibition, the participants of the delegation from Abkhazia met and talked with Omar Polat, Turkish Trade Minister.

Within the framework of the event, Fulat Kulacholu, a member of the Board of the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce and Industry organized a business lunch.The event brought together representatives of both chambers and became a platform for discussing topical issues and proposals for the development of further cooperation. During the lunch, target areas were discussed, such as the exchange of experience in various fields, the possibility of joint exhibitions and much more.

The participation of the CCI and Abkhazian designers in the fashion exhibition was an important step for the development of cooperation with colleagues. The Chamber is confident that further cooperation will be fruitful and will lead to mutual benefits for designers and enterprises of both countries.
The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Abkhazia plans to continue its active participation in such events contributing to the integration of Abkhazian business into the international community and supporting creative entrepreneurs in their quest for new heights.
