At the invitation of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Abkhazia Bettina Schmidt, a musicologist and ex-editor of academic music at the Public Radio Broadcasting in Germany, in May 2024 visited our Republic as part of a delegation headed by Wolfgang Matzke, the representative of the CCI of the RA in Germany. FIVE DAYS IN ABKHAZIA
A taxi rushes quickly along a road: driving around the city at a speed of 80 km / h is common. Buckle up? The driver laughs. Only foreigners do this. Despite his confident driving style he, like all his colleagues is careful when driving around cows, pigs and dogs that are on or crossing the roadway. Still from time to time on the side of the road you can see signs in memory of those who died in an accident.
Thanks to a previous lecture on this unknown piece of Land in May I was lucky enough to get an impression of this country together with four gentlemen. Since this is my first visit I am interested in everything.
