At the invitation of Dr. Helmut Schmidt, Chairman of the Medium sized business and Economic Union (MIT MITTELSTANDS-UND WIRTSCHAFTSUNION ROSTOCK) in Rostock, Wolfgang Matzke, Representative of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Abkhazia in Germany, presented our republic for the first time on the sidelines of one of the largest business associations in Germany.

The MIT invitation to the meeting participants stated in particular: "... Abkhazia is a largely unknown country in the South Caucasus on the Black Sea shore whose nature and climate are comparable to the French Riviera. 200 km of coastline with idyllic beaches and resorts and the mountains of the Caucasus rising to an altitude of more than 4,000 m attract tourists. In addition to tourism, agriculture prevails in Abkhazia.… You are given the opportunity to get acquainted with Abkhazia, its economic potential and investment opportunities, as well as taste Abkhazian wines and chacha."

"The foreign policy and related economic opportunities of German entrepreneurs are currently changing rapidly. Along with unexpected risks, new perspectives are opening up. For this reason, I am glad that Mr. Wolfgang Matzke, representative of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Abkhazia in Germany, introduces us to a country that many of you may not know. Abkhazia should receive more attention in Germany and it is important to communicate more with the Abkhaz side in order to understand the situation," said Dr. Schmidt, opening the meeting.

Then the representative of the CCI made a presentation on Abkhazia, spoke about the republic's investment opportunities and investment preferences.

W. Matzke also presented the products of Abkhazian producers of limited liability companies "Wines and Beverages of Abkhazia", "Duripsh Winery", "Chateau Abhaz", adjika "Abkhazproducta" and individual entrepreneur G. Kharaziya, as well as printed materials and a film about Abkhazia prepared by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Abkhazia.
"Many of the guests of the event expressed a desire to visit Abkhazia in order to get to know Abkhazia, its culture, traditions, tourism and economic potential from their own experience," Wolfgang Matzke said following the presentation.

Thanks to the participation of the CCI representative in such events representatives of the German business community are learning more and more about Abkhazia, which opens up great opportunities and prospects for cooperation.
